Route 66 Adventure: 1st Day Out KC to Springfield Illinois

Our tiny house on wheels...

Our first stop was the "Purple Martin Capital of the nation"

Gas sort of off the beaten track (a few miles off the highway) but the best discoveries are made while lost....

Our first camp ground is in Springfield, Illinois, on Route 66.  I didn't quite plan it that way but it happened...

We really weren't in route 66 mode yet.  We still had to make it to Chicago where we will go to the start of the route and start following it west.  In the morning we depart and have some interstate driving to do to get to Chicago...
