20231124 Friday The Night Shift- Residential Fire 3112 CHARLOTTE ST, KANSAS CITY, MO, and Black Friday Lives.  Somehow, my reporter and I got into a pin war where the theme is fish.  I reeled in the win hook, Line and sinker.  She was in over her head.  

We have a second Spanksgiving dinner at our house now that Suyen was able to take the day off.  We count our blessings.

20231123 The Kansas City Vlog- Spanksgiving - I have the day off but my wife doesn’t.  She is on call and ended up working a ten hour day.  We plan on going to my sisters for dinner and end up going late because of my wife’s call.  I’m the meantime I have to dare to go out to the grocery store where everyone is grumpy and pushy getting their last second items.  I most need the cleaner for the glass stovetop.

Suyen’s niece got a job in West Plains at a hospital.  It is very common for rural hospitals to hire foreign overseas skilled workers through agencies.  There has been a shortage of workers for these kind of jobs for many years.  Filipinos commonly work in the medical professions and happily fill the gap.  We drove down to visit her in her new home.  It also gave us a chance to explore West Plains.

A spectacular fire on Kansas City’s Eastside started in a two story abandoned building.  

By the time the firefighters were done with it, the building was flat.  They used a pressure stream of water to bring it down out of an abundance of caution.  In Olathe a train versus a pedestrian ends tragically.  

Also on I-70 in Independence, a Crash ends tragically for two people.  I go out with Martin Martinez to get some MOS sound on the bus tax.  I end my shift with mint tea at Cafe Ca Phe .
