This shift is a busy one though I don’t have much to show for it other than miles on the car I drive to 470 north of Struther Road where I hear of a crash where the passenger driver was ejected and the fire people were doing CPR. That, however, was cleared before I could even get to it! Then, I have to drive to KK where there is word of a standoff operation between police and a person who stabbed a police officer. That two seem to be cleared by the time I got there. I actually heard that on the scanner as Kansas City, Missouri fire department was discussing it For some reason. In their discussion, they were stating that the operation was clearing up and they were no longer needed. So, I knew that I wasn’t gonna have much luck before I even got there. In the meantime, there is a fire at a restaurant at 39th and Wyandotte. The fire department thinks that it was set. We are live at the national Cemetery in Leavenworth Kansas. The cemetery is a very serene, sobering and beautiful setting. I have coffee for my happy hour afterwards.

20240712 Friday Evening Walk
Since I was not able to do my morning walk because I had to run errands for my dog who has diabetes, I decided to do it this evening after I got up from my nap. I walked in the crossroads and notices really really busy these days as opposed to what it was like several years ago. There is nowhere to park on a Friday night. Even during the day, it is hard to find parking. I guess you can say this is a success story that is owed to the pioneering artist who kind of resettled this area after its days of being kind of an industrial Skid Row. I go to Union Station to try and watch trains from the Pennco Bridge. However, Fishing was kind of dry when I was there. It took me leaving the Penco bridge for the trains to show up. Amtrak came, the chief. I guess I am surprised, because Amtrak usually runs late these days due to the long trains that the railroads run. I finished my walk in the crossroads and nearly get run over by somebody racing. What was probably a stolen Subaru on Main Street. That’s what I get for trying to walk on the sidewalk where he was trying to drive. I would’ve caught that on camera, but I was too busy trying to dodge him! I think my experience from several years ago when I was hit by a car in Westport has taught me well because this time I was nimble and jumped out of the way! I think I foreshadow it the other day when I was talking about not having the dogs with me and that’s being morenimble. Unfortunately, the Subaru, which was a very nice car left a lot of its underside on the curb! As I said, this car was probably stolen! I go to the river key and have some English tea at my favorite late night coffee house!
