We just arrived at the Jack Rabbit. Just as we got a bit of serendipity happened here as a train came by just perfect so I can get the sign and the train on video.

After having bad luck with the route up to Holbrook the magic is starting to happen we started to meet and talk to people we just met the third generation owner of the Jack Rabbit trading post.
we talked about the signs that used to be all up and down Route 66 and the she told me that when the the I-40 came through they made the family that owned Jack Rabbit Trading Post take all the signs down due to Ladybird Johnsons Beautification program. Billboards had to come down, including the iconic Jack Rabbit mileage signs.
