I go over my experience over the weekend at the hotel conference room. Tonight is a slow night as far as the Night Shift goes. I find that hotel conference rooms are the porous spaces to try and have a conference in. From a technical standpoint people who do A/V stuff are usually handicapped by the limited Access in the facility. Also, there is usually a long circuitous walk to get into the place and poor access to parking. I think a lot of this is purposely done by conference centers to keep other technicians out of their business so that they can charge an arm and leg for their own in-house technicians. That had gotten so bad that I think a lot of the in-house technicians went out of business as they were contractors. So, I would think twice about using any kind of hotel conference room to hold conferences in. Look for other venues or alternatives there are plenty out there. Many of those will offer better facilities and even will help you out with your technical needs to try and have a successful video shoot photo shoot or audio program. I have call this morning to ease my grumpiness.

20240625 Tuesday The Night Shift - 2 car injury crash at blue Ridge and 63rd cleared up as soon as I got to it. I got some video that I could, just to cover. We are live at blue Hawk talking about Starbucks. We witness a beautiful sunrise. I head back to the station via 159th and cross over the state line and see some beautiful rural Kansas and Missouri countryside.I passed through Martin city on my way back. Cappuccino is at Garden Café.
20240626 Wednesday The Stormmmm Night Shift
I start out by going to a housefire in an apartment. I got there pretty late, so everyone was gone. The lower apartment was occupied and the person will have to spend the night with us the Red Cross. His apartment suffered from water damage from the fire that took place upstairs from him. I sent to a homicide scene that happened overnight. However, the police from Casey K had already left the scene before I even got there. We are alive at the fantastic Johnson county cultural and historical center which is placed in the old AMF bowling alley and eyeshadow skating rink. The building was restored and they are doing a tremendous job of presenting local history, especially mid-century modern history. I have at Café Corazon. It is a short break as we have to go to the kids summertime concert where they worked really hard on mastering their instruments during summer school. The concert was really good. It is held at Antioch middle school!
