There are very few RV parks where you can park on the beach. Most are on the other side of the highway, but Ho-Hum is on the beach side of the road.

This is a college town that I have wanted to visit for probably 30 years or more. I find many similarities to Lawrence, Kansas and Columbia, Missouri - two college towns I have explored very deeply. Athens is legendary in American music for the many college rock bands that have come from here, most notably R.E.M. and the B-52's. It is a great pleasure to get to spend part of a day here. I would love to explore this town more in depth some day.
It was super beach hot, here, and very buggy. The dogs and I found a watering hole to rest in and stay away from the sun. I got a sody and the bartender is definitely a dog person he made sure the dogs were well supplied with cool water even though they were not allowed in the bar.

20230626 Monday The Night Shift - After a weekend of murders I had to get vo of a cold scene at 31st and Prospect. A house fire on the Eastside left a family homeless and killed the family pets.

20230619 Monday The Night Shift -- I attract the wrong kind of attention while eating lunch downtown. We are tired from our Columbia trip.
20230619 Corner Café - After visiting the dentist, we didn't feel like cooking so we eat out at Corner Cafe in Riverside.
20230620 Tuesday The Night Shift It is an unbelievably busy day! There is a house fire that is called out as an abandoned building bit turns out to be occupied with one resident being rescued along with his two dogs. Two others have walked out of the house. Steetcar construction work is taking place between 51st and 34th on Main. While we are live in Westport a major crash takes place at I-35 and 670 involving a cement truck. Phew!
20230621 Wednesday The Night Shift -- A crash is called in as a shooting but it is not. I enjoy the morning at our live shot downtown.
20230622 Thursday The Night Shift - I come up on a non-life threatening shooting. I need tea for my upset stomach in the morning.
20230623 Friday The Night Shift - A robbery, chase, shootout with the cops, a manhunt in Prairie Village ends up with a huge chase in rural northern Missouri with the perp in hand cuffs. During all of this there is also a homicide at 43rd and Agnes.

20230625 The Kansas City Vlog_ Sunday -- Sundays are our busy days as we have 3 kids serving while the Choir is on hiatus for the summer. We have hot drinks at Cafe Ca Phe and brunch at Vietnam Cafe. There is dance practice and finally, Retail Rebel.
