20231002 Monday The Night Shift  A concert at Arrowhead creates a huge traffic Jam.  It is another summer day in October.  I have mint tea at Cafe Cà Phê

20231003 Tuesday The Night Shift - There is a small deck fire in the northland.  It seems like it will be a calm morning until a stand-off in northern Overland Park destroys the peace.

20231004 Wednesday The Night Shift - A big fire in an empty abandoned apartment building on Independence Avenue took up a big part of my Night Shift.  There is also a shooting in Grandview that I go to check out.

20231005 Thursday The Night Shift - We Are live in The Plaza

20231006 Friday The Night Shift - I go to a small electrical fire at a warehouse in Riverside. Later there is another fire at 28th and Van Brunt which was a pretty big fire in an empty house.

My first call is a fatality involving a pedestrian at 435 and Metcalf.

We are live at  B'nai Jehudah about the attacks and war in Israel and the local reaction.  I have mint tea at Cafe Cà Phê.

20231008 Sunday The Kansas City Vlog

Today is my wife, Suyen’s birthday.

After church, we enjoyed crepes at Seven Swans.

I love the swan water fixture in the bathroom.



Seven Swans is in the former location of YJ’s.  

We spend the rest of our Sunday at Barkville in Parkville and running to Retail Rebel and Costco before havin a little celebration of Suyen’s birthday at home.

20231006 Friday The Night Shift

A small fire inside a warehouse in Riverside starts out our shift.

The fire is caused by a battery inside a big connex box.  Riverside has to call upon Kansas City’s airboat to help ventilate the huge warehouse.  This is the second time in about a week I have seen them have to do this.
We respond to another fire at around 28th and Van Brunt in Kansas City, Missouri.

The weather is noticeably cooler this morning and our live shots are all about how to protect your plants.

I do Friday brekkus at Town Topic on Baltimore.

Cawfee… You know?  Diner coffee is usually pretty bad.  This, however is some of the best joe in town.  The fact that they grind it fresh helps!

There is only one fire that turns out to be nothing in Lenexa I’m checking on.  So, it is a pretty slow night shift.  We are live in the Plaza.
