We spent the day with James. He took us around his haunts plus some obvious touristy spots which he had to endure for us. We spent the entire time on what was once East Berlin, which was part of the communist German Democratic Republic before the fall of the Berlin wall. Many of the areas have gone through the phases of bohemian art communities then gentrification to more wealthier people.

After our day in Berlin, we ate at a vietnamese restaurant which was really good, and it was time to depart on our night train to Mannheim, then on to Paris.
