Civil Wars

Remember, remember the 5th of November.....

I have been reading the Bible lately.  I have been trying to grasp meaning.  I am still seeking.  What I have come up with so far is that no one person could judge another without first compromising that which is most holy within themselves.  That type of unholy act occurred on this day, 11 years ago.  Eleven years....  I sit and write this on the evening of the tenth, and I cannot shake this feeling of dread.  I fear these people who have no love.  I fear these people who would rather quote doctrine and use it to preach hate.  I know that when a person divorces them self from their own divine inspiration, then that person is capable of any sin.  What is sin to me?  If hell is defined as separation from the source -- GOD, then sin must be defined as any deed or thought which would bring about that separation.  Sin cannot be defined by a list of sins, rather but by the simple concept of what it really is.  Most doctrines choose to give a complicated list, as they also like to bury the simple truth.  That simple truth is that God is love, and God is within all of us.  If we know that, then we cannot choose any other course than to respect ourselves and every living thing amongst us.  That is called "the way."   Eleven years ago, some misguided people allowed themselves to be indoctrinated to the point that not only did they see their path to salvation as one in which they had to destroy themselves, but also many people whom they had never met.  Suffering has been defined by Buddha as being caused by human desire and ignorance.  Much suffering was wrought in this world by an extreme misunderstanding and desire for revenge and glory.  The world is imperfection defined.  Life is full of challenges.  Everyone seeks truth and enlightenment.  Many believe that truth can be found through some quick and easy short cut with no effort.  Seeking truth is a lifetime endeavor and at the end, only a minuscule glimmer of truth can be found if you are blessed.  It is true that the United States of America has been a very blessed nation that has been given many graces.  We have been free in this land to seek the truth in our own way.  That truely, and really is the source of our prosperity and liberty.  However, there is a war raging in this land now.  It is a war of the mind, and a war to control and limit the truth.  We are losing our way and diverging from the path.

Street vendors can be found more and more commonly as the First Friday's art walk increases in popularity.  This woman selling photographs on wooden blocks was very interesting.  She had great prices on her stuff.

When I first saw this car, I thought it had an encounter with a huge dung beetle.. or a very ambitious one...
