Monday is Barangay election here, and the politics, even for local elections can be rancorous and violent.

Muli-cab styled jeepney.  These jeepneys or PUJ's (pickup jeeps) are becomming more common than the hand crafted traditional american style jeeps, as they are cheaper to buy and operate.

Tamaraw style jeepney, based off of the Toyota Tamaraw.  The bodies of these are hand made in local shops, with surplus diesel engines supplied from Japan or Korea

My family likes to spend a lot of time in the malls.  Most of my picks are shot out the windows of cars speeding back and forth between the house and the mall.  Middle class filipinos prefer the malls to the overcrowding, dust and heat of the streets.

People here love christmas.  The lights and decorations come up in mid October, and in some cases, don't come down until March.
