The word is not the thing, the symbol is not the country and the statement is not the art...

Some recent discussion on a local online art publication has left people in the art scene in Kansas City taking sides.   Recently, I helped my friends, Jessica Logsdon and Jeff Helkenberg move some art to get ready for February's first Friday.  In the process we decided to drive around downtown and talk about the controversy and other local politics.

Our first thoughts for a daytrip was to go around and take snow pix.  The skyline was beautiful at dusk.  However, temps in the teens as highs were not too inspiring for a brisk walk.

So we picked up Jeff and Jessica and drove to their gallery, the Keyhole in the crossroads.  We discussed various subjects, including the current controversy.
