Arts Incubator Gone for Good?
Talking with some of my inside contacts, I've heard rumours about the Arts Incubators demise. The rumors, which I haven't been able to verify, say that complaints from a competitor was the initial cause of the safety inspections which lead to the closing of the space in June. According to one news report, the city was alerted by an "anonymous tipster." Coincidentally, other spaces in the area noticed an uptick in city inspections/harrassment . Not wishing to take sides in this, there were critical violations and problems that needed to be addressed in the building by the operators of the Incubator and the buildings owner. It is also interesting to read what discussions I can find on the subject on the internets. Apparently the plug has been pulled on the operation and another art venue has gone down the drain.
