Visiting Boulder City and Hoover Dam
Subscribe to SvobodaKC
We were told that for a pleasant getaway from all that is Las Vegas, we should go visit Boulder City and that the Hoover Dam was not too far away. We were told that Boulder City was the "Anti-Vegas."
Hoover Dam
Our first visit was to Hoover Dam. A lot of the views of the front of the dam are hard to get to. It seems unless you are willing to Pay $$$$, then you won't be able to see it. The weather was hot and we were not that ambitious. The views were fine where we were and we got souvenirs on the Arizona side overlooking the dam.
We didn't walk on the dam because doggies are not allowed and it was too damn hot to keep her in the car and there was no shade where she could rest.

The Coffee Cup
We first stopped at a promising cafe to have grilled chicken and soup. Usually on trips we try to find something recommended by a show such as Diners, Drive Inn's and Dives.
Without realizing it, we walked right into such a place. We even sat beneath a Guy Fieri poster. The chicken I had was really good, and Suyen seemed to like her food as well. I talked with the son of the owners, who was really friendly. He told me a lot about the local history of the area, including the fact that a world famous drummer liked to eat at the cafe and was there as we spoke. I didn't want to embarrass him, so I didn't introduce myself.
